12-6-09Loved it! And written on my birthday (12/6) no less... You are my new hero - a man of great compassion.
Dean Martin Star Insurance Chambersburg, PA Grant, I just wanted to drop you a note. I used your presentation form for an auto policy (I have not yet implemented the quoting entire account philosophy yet...) and the customer asked to have her home quoted right away. Thanks for the great form. I've been out of the office the last week at a CIC update and tomorrow I'm off to New Orleans for the Big I Young Agent leadership institute. Thanks for the form. Brad Baldwin Erickson Baldwin Insurance Havre Montana
Grant – Thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to talk with us about your sales process. All of us were very impressed to say the least. We sat around for 10 minutes after we hung up discussing our next steps of action. You have given us a blueprint to success AND renewed enthusiasm for what we do for our clients. Thank you again my friend. If there is anything that I can do for you, then please let me know. Please let me know if I can make a donation to your favorite charity. It’s the least I could do.Take good care!Billy Proudfit

Grant, This is great. Sometimes you get advice from the most unexpected places. I might be where you were 20 years ago and I expect to get better and better. I’m implementing little things here and there. I sent out about 40 of the life flyer (100 people and the expected income) you post it and already have a prospect that wants to sign up for a $300/month policy. And I want to thank you personally because of what you do for everyone. I’ve never seem/met an individual, in this business, as unselfish as you are. I actually attend Lakewood (Joel Osteen’s the pastor) and he’s great every week. Hugo Salamanca

Grant, The help that you have provided is priceless, and I truly mean priceless because I think I can teach my producers to duplicate your presentation and who knows how many time we can duplicate your success. You have a gift of salesmanship like I have never seen. I appreciate you taking the time to share it. Now I just need to learn how to do the benefits side of the sale....no chance your agency wants to act as the benefits department for my agency? Again, thank you. Zach Stock
Apex Risk Solutions Denver, CO Grant, this type of information is GREAT stuff! Is this a separate system that you pay for….to get access to such info?By the way, I used your presentation strategy during a presentation yesterday. I know you’re still trying to get me access to your site, but I made enough notes that I was able to do half the job you did.Needless to say, we just booked the $225,000 account! And……we were $10,000 higher!!! Can you believe it? Plus….we’re doing an EPLI quote for them now! After explaining what we (now) do, they wanted us to be their agent! I am soooo happy!Thank you for all you have done! I can’t wait to thank you at Summit. First drink is on me!Greg I wish I had a mentor like you when I started out. Great Job! Congratulations! I just closed a case this morning using a version of your policy comparison spreadsheet and salesmanship. I think sometimes we forget how well we can perform when we dust off the "old" salesman cap. My new clients renewing premium was $12,000+ and they just stroked me a check for $17,000+. More coverage that they now understand, for more premium of course. Another benefit is my CSR's see that PRICE is not the way it is done. Thanks for reminding me that I am a salesman. Thanks Kyle P. Kyle Cornelison Jr. MBA, ChFC, CLU 732 McFarland Blvd. West Northport, Al 35476Grant, It was great seeing you ( and all the other presenters) this past weekend in Chicago. I really learned a lot about being a better salesman from your presentation book. I guess I never really prepared they way you have. Thanks again. That is awesome! Thanks for the inspiration. Exactly what I needed.
Carla Edwards Edwards Insurance Agency, Savannah GeorgiaGreat, great thoughts, Grant! I can picture you standing there at the puddle thinking about all of this! Disappointments come in so many different forms. I missed out on writing an account this week, it's been like a sandspur in my boot ever since. I thought I had done everything right. I started on it 6 months ago, went to every market, reviewed the coverages, found the holes, came up with solutions, etc. Well, as you know, sometimes you can block the markets and sometimes every agent gets the same quote. I didn't write the account; and when I asked which company, it was one I had quoted too. Except for the price difference...why?....the other agent took off the bottom 4 vehicles! I faxed him my quote breakdown and showed him the company's real price. All the insured said was, "Well it has to be right. He gave me auto ID cards for all of our vehicles." I share this story because it has kept me up at night. What could I have done differently? I tried to resell the insured. I confronted the company. But I didn't go too far as to damage the relationships. I think it teaches me that there will always be disappointments, even when we give our best effort. Maybe it's just something to fire me up! Who knows...Greg Wilkes Flowers Insurance Troy, AL
Grant,
As I sit here reflecting on my own triumphs and failures of the day, I find myself trying to decide whether to "walk through or around the puddle". I will admit that when I open MY home page (and glance at the blog I will look for (as Marc Babineau says) "this dyslexic genius" to see what I can learn from him today. Thank you for all you do. We all benefit from your incredible insight on things. Phillip Satterfield Insurance Associates of Carrollton Carrollton, Georgia
Very Nice Grant. I'm thinking the next email I get from Simple Truths will
be selling YOUR motivational book. Thanks for keeping things in perspective. Thank you Grant for putting down what many of us must surely think but are to afraid to say. Your thoughts are just waht the doctor ordered. Over the last couple of weeks there have been many failures and hardships to ponder but I have been reminded by you and a book my wife told me to pick up this morning; your words and your thoughts are what make up who you are. Learn from the mistakes and then cast them aside never to think of them again, "fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." What you think has the power to literally transform your life. Thanks again Grant for everything you do. Jon Cordonier Amerinsur, LLC Castle Rock, Colorado
You are a true salesman, even if you don’t admit it!! What you have is the uncanny ability to get people to want to hear more. You threw the bait out there and I grabbed it. After our call, I’m not sure who caught who. I feel that we got more from you than you did from us! Thank you for sharing your techniques and 30 years of hard work and experience with us! GregGrant,
It's the people, the people, the people. Really, really smart and caring people that we got to hang out with, learn from, be challenged by and gain energy from. You are definitely one of them and you certainly go on the list of people who share their time and intellectual ability willingly. I have been absolutely flying high with energy and excitement from the time I got to Chicago and right through now. It's a great time to be in this business, helping our families and giving back to our communities. It's really appreciated! Thx, Shaun Irwin Anderson Agency Minneapolis, Mn Grant,I have never met you Grant but you are one insightful human being. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reflection. Thanks again! Grant,
I had the pleasure of meeting you after your had made a presentation to our group this past year What impresses me the most is that technically, you are at the top of your profession on the P&C Risk Management side and the Financial Planning Life/Benefits Side. Extremely rare to meet a practitioner like you. But you prove that we all have enormous capacity to learn and to serve our clients. Yes our profession has been stigmatized by greedy hacks, and I make a conscious effort to never watch or re read Death of a Salesman. Because those of us that do take our profession and our duties to our clients seriously, like you do Grant, really have a positive effect on peoples lives, and earn a very good living doing so. Thank you for this wonderful essay on what we all should be doing. Truly, Byron Yankou, CIP Toronto, Ontario, Canada Grant-- Thanks for sharing an absolutely AWESOME concept. Our team was discussing earlier today the difficulty we are having in attracting new personal lines clients. I'm thinking this may be the key we've been looking for to unlock the potential of this market. Thanks again, --Jerry Grant Davis, You rock. Congratulations on your success. Your presentation in Chicago was merely brilliant. Thanks for the lesson. In honor of your stellar .400 hit ratio, I'm going to call you Grant " Teddy Ball Game" Davis (There have been More Major League Ball players with the surname Davis than any other surname in the history of THE GREATEST GAME ON EARTH ) Truly, Byron
Awesome, as usual, Grant! Thanks for the inspirational thoughts.

Of all the folks I've met, information obtained and lessons learned
nothing compares with this man Grant Davis. I don't know where this dyslexic genius finds the time to help so many people, share his insights, methods and philosophy while running a very successful business. It's truly humbling. Thanks for all you do Mr. D. Marc Babineau Balineau Insurance Fitchburg, MassThat was one of the best things that I read in a while. Great advice. Thanks Grant

Grants techniques and teachings have been incredibly powerful throughout my entire life as a person, Navy SEAL, and now writer and producer.
Having spent over a decade in the SEAL teams, and the last few years working heavily in the intelligence field, I can honestly say that Grants methods and mind-set has made me what I am today. I had adopted his techniques and mental management while working as a SEAL intelligence operative, a seemingly unrelated field to the uninitiated; however I can make several assertions as to how using his highly effective techniques allowed me to excel during those critical times.
I realize that you probably get a lot of referrals from the friends and families of potential speakers; but I can assure you Grant is worth listening to. You will quickly be able to ground my recommendation simply by calling him and asking him a question surrounding any topics of Sales, life, and more.

Grant, I enjoyed speaking with you today on the phone as it has been many years since we last visited. I saw your website: www.thehabitualsalesman.com and what a wealth of information it contains. I am still reviewing and absorbing all that is available on it. I remember like it was yesterday when back in 1988 while we were working together at the Insurance Agency there in Turlock California, the Senior Partner was selling the Agency out from under us and you stating at the time, it doesn't matter because one day I will have my own Agency that will be many times bigger then this one. You had a goal then to build a bigger and better Agency and now 20 years later you have surpassed those goals many times over. I am amazed at what you have accomplished since that day. You truly have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in Sales and Marketing.
